I don't know anything about this photo and also don't know how he took it. Either this was cropped after scanned or a merger of 2 images. I'd say the former.

There's little I know of how and when this photo was taken but he made it one of his first prints from a canon pro 100 and even put it on his business card. He said he had seen a lot of photos of the Brooklyn Bridge but this was his favorite not because he had taken it but because how perfectly the cables cross the lamp post.

This could have been take during the 1976 Bicentennial. When I went to liberty park in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAclKVlKyQw , there was a bridge from New Jersey to go to Liberty Island. It was closed when I was there but maybe open when my grandfather took this photo.

The Photographer Joseph Ratke, my grandfather, was a freelance commercial photographer and contributor to billiards digest and other billiards related publications. He was an avid photographer from the 1950's till his death in 2021. He has thousands of negatives yet to be scanned and thousands of digital photos I've organized.
