Taken by my Grandfather and printed by Tribeca Printworks.

Printied on Hahnemulhle Photo Rag Bright Paper with pigment inks.

Here's a brief description of the paper

310 gsm · 100% Cotton · bright white

Bright White – a 100% cotton paper with a smooth surface texture – guarantees archival standards. With its premium matt inkjet coating Photo Rag® Bright White meets the highest industry standards regarding density, colour gamut, colour graduation and image sharpness while preserving the special touch and feel of genuine art paper.

I chose the Weathered Walnut Frame, Something not mentioned on Tribeca's website is that this framing option comes with non glare plexiglass. Here's a brief description from Tribeca's website:

Weathered Walnut Frame. A slightly distressed walnut finish with visible wood grain. Modern, solid wood 3/4" face, 1-7/16" depth from wall. Print is framed to the edge. If you would like a white border around your image, please incorporate that into the file before uploading. Each piece is framed with plexiglass and backed with acid free *foamcore, backing paper, and hanging wire.

*This photo is particularly unique because I ordered only the print about a year ago then mounted it on gatorboard myself with my grandfather's dry mount and leftover gatorboard, and only recently just had it framed.

The Photographer

Joseph Ratke, my grandfather, was a freelance commercial photographer and contributor to billiards digest and other billiards related publications. He was an avid photographer from the 1950's till his death in 2021. He has thousands of negatives yet to be scanned and thousands of digital photos I've organized.

About the Photo

I know little about it. My grandfather might have showed it to me once shortly before he passed or when I first started living with him, I don't remember.

It was taken August 1st 1976 from Liberty Park New Jersey during the OpSail Bicentennial Celebration. Scroll through to see a 20min video about finding the location.
